Gm finally is ahead of the curve on one thing that is actually imprortant-value.
Let me explain- with horsepower being cheaper and cheaper, performance cars haven’ t become less expensive, if anything. Besides a few exceptions that fill the role like the base trim muscle cars and such, everything else has been getting better, but no t necessarily cheaper.
As someone who wants something exciting, the base mustang just doesn’ t do it for me, despite its performance chops. Basically, I want a hotwheels car.
While the c8 isnt my cup of tea- I love the price/performance/ridiculous factor it occupies. 500 ish hp is plenty for me, i want to up the nuttiness factor and the c8 delivers. I hope automakers chill out with the magazine numbers now and focus on what they are good at: volume, volume, volume.

A old good pilot friend of mine once said, “never fly an A model or -100 of anything.”
I shall wait till the year after intro year to truly measure this relaunched Fiero. I agree with your thoughts, as the value proposition can be great here, especially when the turbo kits hit.

It’s crazy. They’ve really done a great job of positioning this to steal from a lot of other product lines (M2C/M4, Supra, Cayman, GT-R, NSX, Evora...). Mid-engine really does change the game as far as drawing others in that would never consider a Corvette before.

Personally, I think
the value/price is the only thing I think it has going for it. To a point though, because I’d imagine it will be easy to spec the price way, way up
. It looks like someone bought a 360 and put a cheap, ugly body kit on it. Corvettes, to me, always seem cheap (I mean, it is GM after all) and this is no exception. Plus, t
he interior looks very odd and disjointed
.

I like it because it allows me to buy that “ferrari” I always wanted growing up, but will never be able to afford. Hell, even the original NSX are over $50k on the used market. This is about the only way I can afford a rear-mid engined sports car. 500hp is more than enough for me. As much as I’d love to fantasize about being a race car driver, i am not.
I won’t buy one new (because kids), but in a few years, this may be very do-able.

The looks are what turn me off, but i have no doubt it will be a solid performance car.

If it was a fiero 2 it would be a modular supercar and i could replace the meh styling but no, it aint. That would be cool though, good idea!

I absolutely don’t doubt the performance chops. The overall GM styling and build just kill it. I do honestly like the Stingray badge though.
